Every day, Pick and Popovich will post one fake trade and explain why it makes sense for every team involved to make it. There are no parameters beyond fitting within the salary cap. Sometimes the trades will involve stars, others role players. They are not grounded in actual rumors, they just make sense on paper. During the 2016 NBA Playoffs, each week will feature seven fake trades of one star player. This is Jahlil Okafor Week.
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: Phoenix Suns receive:
Brandon Knight Jahlil Okafor
No. 13 Overall Pick
Why Philadelphia would make this trade: People forget this, but Brandon Knight is actually only 24-years-old. He’s still young enough to be a major part of a rebuilding team, but has been around long enough to be a steady veteran hand for Philly as well. His shooting fits with Ben Simmons, and the Colangelos want to start adding vets anyway.
Why Phoenix would make this trade: Why does Phoenix still need two point guards? That experiment failed. Just cash in and get the most valuable asset for either Knight or Eric Bledsoe you can. Okafor my join a clogged center spot, but he’d join Devin Booker and the No. 4 pick in giving the Suns a promising young core.
